About us

We are Amy & Howard Groshell...the parents of Gentry Groshell, age 20. Gentry was diagnosed with autism at age 2 and is non-verbal but communicates through her art and supported typing. She requires one on one supervision and currently resides in a group home. Since finding her voice through typing at age 18, her life has changed drastically. Gentry can now share her hopes and dreams and communicates frequently her desire to bring typing to her peers and to sell her art to raise awareness about the beauty and intelligence of those greatest challenged by autism. She also desires that the proceeds from her art and products reflecting her art be directed toward the group home we are building for her and 5 of her peers in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. This home is a not for profit organization, Peace of Heart Community (POHC), and is set to open in 2017. The impact of POHC will go beyond the walls of our residence. We will host communication based workshops, offer gardening classes and volunteer opportunities as well as provide art therapy and other self-enrichment events for persons with autism in our community.

At Peace of Heart Community, we believe in the intrinsic value of all persons. No one person is superior to the other. We all have a strengths and weaknesses. We all have unique gifts to give and we celebrate this everyday!

Our team consists of family and friends who have reached out with their unique skill sets to improve the quality of life of those living with autism. You too can help by purchasing Gentry's "everyday art" online! All net proceeds to benefit Peace of Heart Community.
